Arthur McLean –
Classic US Army gear. Works really well for eating in cafeteria-style meal lines, e.g. Scout camp. You hook the divided tin over the long handle on the fry pan and hold both sides open in one hand (leaving your other hand free for your trendy Swedish cup and your beverage of choice).
If you are heating boil-in-bag entrees, the fry pan is a little shallow; a Canadian or Euro-type mess tin, or even a GSI nesting cup, works better for heating MRE or IMP entrees. Still, these tins are steel and very durable.
